APPLICATION INFORMATION
APPLICATION CONDITIONS Temperature:
Air & Surface: 32°F minimum / 100°F maximum
Material: 50°F minimum / 95°F maximum
Relative Humidity:
Can be applied at relative humidities up to 97%
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
BRUSH
Use nylon or polyester brushes, do not over brush or apply too heavily.
Heavy applications will slump on vertical surfaces.
SQUEEGEE
Pour material out into a puddle and pull with the appropriate notched squeegee. 1/8" notch will yield approx. 1.5 gallons/100 square feet and the 3/16" notch will yield approx 2 gallons/100 square feet.
After pulling with the squeegee, the material will have to be back rolled with a enamel short nap roller for uniform appearance. Cross hatch subsequent applications perpendicular to the previous layer.
ROLLERS
Use 12, 18, or 24" rollers for back rolling large areas. Use 1/4 - 1/2" nap high grade synthetic heads with phenolic cores.
Rapid rolling will splatter and may become airborne on higher buildings.
SPRAY AIRLESS (for high volume)
UR2650 two component material is best applied by airless spray with a siphon feed hopper or a Binks Hawk air assisted spray system.
System will have to be purged with solvent after every 4 - 5 kits are sprayed to prevent equipment problems.
Keep material above 50ºF prior to catalyzing in cold temperatures.
Pressure: 3,000-4,000 psi 2-3 gallons/minute.
Tip: 5.37 to 6.56 reversible
Gun: Mastic or high volume heavy duty guns
Line: 1/2" solvent resistant or 1/2" double braid hydraulic
PERFORMANCE TIPS
DO NOT THIN
POWER MIX BEFORE USING
RECOAT WINDOW
Maximum intercoat bond for the UR2650 is within 48 hours. Work should be scheduled to be started and finished within this time frame. This is especially important in areas of submersion.
Damp conditions or water will foam the material. Do not apply if rain is immanent before proper film set can be established.
Please consult Coatings International for specific questions regarding the application of this system.
CLEANUP INSTRUCTIONS
Clean spills and spatters and tools immediately with mineral spirits or xylene.
Clean hands immediately after use with hand cleaner that works on asphalt or oils.
After cleaning, flush spray equipment with xylene or mineral spirits. UR2650 must be flushed in standard spray equipment within 35 minutes.
